10 Mar 04 - Minneapolis, MN

I'm trying to figure out a future for this site. There seems to be room to write about various aspects of travel, such as getting ready, what to bring, and places to see. There's probably also advice on how to cure jet lag. Right now I'm conducting research. I got hit really hard yesterday with it and haven't been able to get my schedule back quite yet. I've never been much of a person to fall asleep on the spot -- the past two days have brought just that. Oh, and I'm bored already. You all probably know that already.

07 Mar 04 - Minneapolis, MN

Our trip ended early. There were many factors involved in coming home early. The trip just didn't pan out the way it was supposed to. Chris missed his wife and wasn't comfortable with the level of travel we were dealing with. Asia can be hard on some folks, no matter how much they have been told about it ahead of time. We reached the point where I wasn't getting the opportunity to seek adventure, and Chris really wasn't into it. We changed our flights and headed home. I'm not sure what else to say other than I'm rather disappointed.

05 Mar 04 - Bangkok, Thailand

We're back in Bangkok for a bit as we plan the next phase of our travels. We have a pretty long trip ahead of us tomorrow that will seem like forever. We have to re-pack some of our items before we head out again. It's been far too much to carry half the stuff we purchased along the way. One of these days I'll be able to say now. Not only will I save a ton of money, but I won't have to lug useless stuff around have the planet. We had a near death experience flying from Koh Samui to Krabi the other day. It was the second worst flight I have ever been on. At one point Chris actually grabbed my leg -- he's not a big fan of flying to begin with.

04 Mar 04 - Krabi, Thailand

We made it to Railay Beach yesterday and plan on spending the next few days sitting on the softest beach I have ever known. It a nice little community here, with no cars, buses, or motos. There are some great places to eat along the beach and plenty of relaxing "nothing" to do all day long. It's too bad that it's so expensive here. I think we have the last cheap bungalow under $20 a night.

03 Mar 04 - Koh Samui, Thailand

We spent a night on Lamai beach, after changing our ticket to Krabi at the airport yesterday. We sat down at one of the local bars, played a few games (connect four, jenga and some marble game I still don't understand). We're going to go to Krabi today and relax on a much quieter and softer beach. This is a place that sucked me in for a week last year. I'm looking forward to my return. I admit that I miss home a bit. I miss my friends, family and loved ones. I wish they could share this place with me.

02 Mar 2004 - Koh Phangan, Thailand

We're heading back to Koh Samui this afternoon to rebook our flight to Krabi. It's too loud here and Polish doesn't seem to want to stay up very late. Not exactly the best place to be then. Since I've done the Full Moon Party before, there's no sense waiting around for another 5 days only to go to bed before it even starts. I'd much rather head to Krabi where I can do a bit of hiking and relaxing on a quiet beach ... free from the sounds of motos and wild all-night parties. We're even looking at a quick Cambodia run, since I missed out on my Bagan temples. I have to find some sort of use for my new camera, right?
